My paintings explore narrative through the interplay of color, shape, and texture, much like a musical composition unfolding in time. Inspired by the rhythms and harmonies of nature, I translate the emotional and visual language of the environment into abstract forms. This relationship between natural elements and abstraction creates a dynamic tension where colors and textures reflect the spontaneous yet structured qualities of music. My work aims to capture this balance, evoking both visceral emotion and thoughtful reflection.
My creative process mirrors a musical journey, moving through stages of building, breaking down, and rebuilding. 1. I begin by collecting visual fragments drawn from natural forms, layering shapes and textures on the canvas like composing an initial melody. 2. Next, I deconstruct these elements, disrupting the arrangement to introduce variation and tension, similar to a dissonant chord or rhythmic shift. 3. Finally, I reconstruct the composition into a cohesive whole that resonates with emotional depth and complexity. Whether leaning toward abstraction or hinting at nature, each painting invites viewers to uncover multiple layers of meaning, much like discovering new nuances in music through repeated listening. Through this process, I balance spontaneity with intentional craftsmanship to engage viewers both emotionally and perceptually.
