Gwen Chynoweth

Although I live in a metropolitan area, my heart belongs to the countryside. Having grown up in rural Wisconsin, I find beauty and comfort in tranquil farm scenes and country landscapes.

But when restlessness hijacks me (as it often does), I wind up in places like mountains, deserts or the oceanside. 

So, whether it’s the Midwest or a far-flung outpost, it’s nature that calls my name. Through painting, I try to share images that will evoke in others what it does in me — awe, peace, a connection to something larger than myself. And, because humor is among my favorite things, maybe a smile or even a chuckle.
