I love to create, color, coordinate, implement, perfect and then do it all again, allowing inspiration from the elements to direct the mind and hands.

Serti Batik and Beads
I love to create, color, coordinate, implement, perfect and then do it all again, allowing inspiration from the elements to direct the mind and hands.
I use my skills in silversmithing to create one of kind pieces of jewelry, inspired by the natural world. I am specifically inspired and fascinated by wildflowers and plants that have gone to seed in late summer. The “Skeletal” remains of the plants have such amazing texture and shape. I aim to mimic this rough beauty in my work.
Texture, shape and color all tell a story. I hope my work will be interesting to look at, but also to touch. I love the feeling I get when I’ve made funny, touching or entertaining, and I want the viewers to have that same feeling. Human stories are, by definition, complicated and mine are no different. I play with concepts and words as a way to process and express my thoughts and feelings, but also to express universal connections.
I’ve always loved watercolor paintings and I’ve found working with watercolor is an adventure! I enjoy learning new techniques and trying new approaches. I also like using different materials with new mediums like acrylics, acrylic pouring and watercolor batik. My subject matter is always varied with flowers, buildings, rocks and water being favorites. I use my photos of nature, vacations and imagination for inspiration. This shares my favorite views and feelings for the world around me.
